Don't miss Evan Christopher, ambassador of the New Orleans clarinet style, in what may be the only acoustic show you'll hear during the HeritageFest season. He will be joined by master musicians David Torkanowsky, Kerry Lewis and Eric Bolivar in a celebration of the venerable tradition he represents. This is will be Clarinet Road's only appearance during HeritageFest.

Evan Christopher, transformed by his move from southern California to the Crescent City in 1994, proves that one can be of a place and not from a place. Inspired by the rich musical heritage of New Orleans, he uses the area’s diverse history as a “cultural pathway” to dispel indoctrinated myths sustained by an incessant over-dependence on tourism. “Jazz,” in its various forms, is one such example. His voice is that of the clarinet and his own encyclopedic knowledge of the historical context of the music he presents.
